About the lab
We conduct research at the intersection of neuroscience and artificial intelligence.
- Biologically grounded reinforcement-learning algorithms inspired by animal navigation.
- Computational models of brain phenomena and neurological disorders, including the role of serotonin and the mechanisms of epilepsy.
- In-silico drug discovery, mainly for nervous-system disorders.
- Diagnosis and prognosis prediction by applying state-of-the-art AI to biomedical data.
- Graduate students receive scholarship and stipend support through the BK21 program.
- Prospective students should refer to the Pusan National University Graduate School admissions notice.
- For undergraduate internships, students in their third year or above are given priority.
- We are a dry lab and work in Python, R and other programming languages.
- We welcome students interested in coding- and computation-based research in neuroscience and AI.
Seats and start dates
As of the second half of 2026 there are no vacant resident seats in the lab. Seat availability will change with the space reallocation scheduled for the winter. Applications and consultations are welcome now; we will let each applicant know individually in February 2027 whether and when they can join. Preliminary meetings about research topics or graduate plans are possible at any time.
